We are seeking a Storage Expert to join our interdisciplinary team of HPC experts in the Computing working group (AG C). This is a 39-hour-per-week position, suitable for part-time work, initially limited until 31 December 2029, with the prospect of long-term cooperation and the possibility of pursuing a doctorate. Remuneration follows the German public service collective agreement (federal government), with a possible grade of TVöD E 13 depending on qualifications. The Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen (GWDG) is the university computing center for the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and an IT competence center for the Max Planck Society. We have provided high-performance HPC systems for over 40 years and operate the HLRN-IV system Emmy. As a national supercomputing center, we support researchers and students across scientific disciplines and participate in national and international research projects. The role is part of our AI Service Center for Sensitive and Critical Infrastructure (KISSKI), within the KISSKI-EvoKS subproject, and involves close collaboration with SME and startup customers, particularly those with demanding data-protection needs. We offer a stimulating research environment in Scientific Computing, with links to applied computer science, HPC, AI, and machine learning; flexible working hours and mobile working; a modern, diverse workplace; a committed team; opportunities for professional development; and public-sector social benefits. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and encourage applications from severely disabled people. The application deadline is 8 November 2026.
