About Isembard

Isembard is building a network of high-performance factories for critical industries. We combine advanced machine tools, robotics and our own software, MasonOS, to make precision components for aerospace, defence, energy and frontier technology companies, with factories across the UK, US, Germany and France. Our mission is to forge industrial acceleration.

The role

Track every order through to delivery, and build the supplier base we need for it. We buy capacity rather than owning every machine, so our suppliers are a production asset, not a purchasing function. Today we work with a handful; by April we want eight qualified suppliers across turned parts, milled parts and surface treatment.

You report to the Head of Operations and work daily with the Operations Manager. A fit for someone who chases without being reminded.

What you'll do

Own order status from start to finish, solid enough that others base decisions on it.

Run RFQs yourself: package drawings and STEP files, send, chase, compare and award.

Qualify suppliers on ISO 9001, in-house measurement, first article inspection and 3.1 certificates, and set up frame agreements with call-offs.

Manage surface and heat treatment (anodising type II and III, passivation, 17-4PH H900) and material supply for our own machines.

Make sure nothing leaves without export control and confidentiality release, and ask make or buy on every repeat part.

What we're looking for

Organisation and attention to detail while priorities shift around you.

You read a technical drawing and see what drives its cost.

RFQs and negotiations you have run yourself, not through central purchasing.

Clear in writing and in person, analytical and calm when the situation is not.

Native German and confident English.

Nice to have

Turned parts and Swiss-type turning.

Surface and heat treatment.

ERP or MES.

Aerospace or defence with EN 9100.

A supplier network in Northern Germany.

Why Isembard

Build a supplier network that is part of how we produce, not an afterthought.

Work on mission-critical aerospace and defence components.

Run your work in MasonOS, our own software.

Competitive salary and equity.

Location: On-site at our Hamburg factory.

Applications in German or English are welcome. Lieber auf Deutsch? Hier bewerben.
