What the posting says
About Upway Logistics
Upway Logistics is our in-house transport network. E-bikes are heavy, high-value, and fragile — standard parcel carriers struggle with them. So we move them ourselves, in both directions: outbound deliveries to customers who bought a bike, and inbound collections from sellers whose bikes we've bought back. Upway Logistics is scaling fast across our European markets, and dispatch is the nerve center of that operation.
The role
As Central Dispatcher, you own the day-to-day execution of Upway Logistics across Europe. Every morning, bikes need to leave our warehouses to reach customers, and vans need to be at sellers' doors to collect bikes coming back in — on the right route, at the right time. And every day, something will not go according to plan. Your job is to make sure the plan is solid before the day starts, to keep the operation running when reality deviates from it, and to be the voice of Upway Logistics towards the clients and sellers affected when it does.
This is a hands-on operational role at the heart of a scaling logistics network. You will be the single point of coordination between route planning, warehouse teams, drivers, and the customers and sellers we serve.
What you'll do
Plan
Build and validate daily routes across all Upway Logistics markets, covering both outbound deliveries to customers and inbound collections from sellers
Manage daily capacity against demand on both flows: delivery and pickup slots, daily caps, and service area coverage per hub
Coordinate with warehouse teams so outbound bikes are prepared, staged, and loaded in line with the route plan — and inbound bikes are expected and absorbed on arrival
Execute
Monitor live operations throughout the day: track route progress, driver status, and completion of deliveries and collections in real time
Handle exceptions as they happen — failed deliveries, missed pickups, delays, vehicle issues, driver absences — and re-plan on the fly
Support
Act as the customer support agent for Upway Logistics: you are the first point of contact for clients waiting for their bike and sellers waiting for a pickup
Handle reschedules, status requests, and transport-related complaints end-to-end, with proactive communication when something goes wrong on our side
Close the loop between the field, the warehouse, and the customer — nobody should be left wondering where their bike is
Report
Track and report daily and weekly operational KPIs across both flows: on-time rate, first-attempt success, stops per route, failed delivery and pickup rates
Flag recurring issues and bottlenecks to the central operations team so they can be addressed
What we're looking for
Must-have
2–4 years of experience in dispatch, transport planning, last-mile operations, or a comparable fast-paced operational coordination role
Hands-on experience with routing or dispatch software, or proven ability to master operational tools quickly
Strong customer-facing communication skills, written and spoken — you stay clear, calm, and empathetic with a frustrated customer even while re-planning a broken route
Fluent English (our working language); German and/or Dutch is a strong plus given daily contact with local teams, clients, and sellers
Comfortable with data: you can build and read a spreadsheet, spot an anomaly in a dashboard, and back up your decisions with numbers
Calm and structured under pressure — you prioritize fast, communicate clearly, and don't lose the overview when three things break at once
Autonomous and reliable: the operation depends on you being sharp at 08:00 when routes go live
Nice-to-have
Experience in fleet-partner logistics setups — Amazon Logistics (DSP), Uber, or similar models built on coordinating partner or contractor fleets
Experience in last-mile logistics of bulky or high-value goods (furniture, appliances, bikes)
Experience working across multiple countries or with distributed field teams
Familiarity with helpdesk or ticketing tools
Practical details
Working hours follow the operation: early starts, overtime in case of truck delays on the road
Contract type is flexible: the role can be set up as a fixed-term contract or a freelance engagement, depending on your preference and applicable local regulations
Position can be full remote or hybrid
Why join
Own a genuinely central role: the daily performance of an entire European logistics network runs through you
Join a category-leading company in sustainable mobility, at the stage where individual impact is still very visible
Get rare breadth: few dispatch roles span five countries, two flows, and direct customer contact from day one
