We are looking to hire a UX/SDK Software Engineer (f/m/d) to design, develop and maintain software components and user interfaces for our algorithm development tools. Passionate about helping create technologies which can change the world? We may be the right place for you so get in touch!

What You’ll Accomplish:

Join our talented and enthusiastic team of scientists and engineers in designing our next generation of development environment

Take ownership of key components in our algorithm development pipeline, and work closely with the quantum algorithm team to streamline and optimise their workflows

Write reliable, well-documented, and high-quality software

Build intuitive and user-friendly software tools and libraries to be used by internal and external developer teams

Support testing, validation and deployment of various models and simulations to UQ’s HPC and/or cloud servers

Develop a deep understanding of the trade-offs associated with design choices across UQ’s quantum algorithms, compilation stack and hardware processes

Requirements

The 3 Most Critical Attributes We'll Use to Compare Candidates

Solid programming experience in languages such as C/C++, Rust, Python across the software stack and targeting multiple platforms

Experience in designing, developing, debugging, testing, maintaining, and profiling commercial-quality software

Collaborative team player with good communication skills

Must-have Skills

5+ years of experience in delivering commercial-quality software from hardware to end-user interfaces

Experience with custom SDKs and developer tooling

Polyglot with extensive experience in Python and at least one of C/C++, or Rust

Writing readable, dependable, efficient, and well-documented code

Pragmatic approach to decision making and design choices

Previous experience in start-ups or fast-paced dynamic work environments

Nice-to-have Skills

Experience with quantum computing, Qiskit, OpenQASM

Experience with HPC, acceleration, and parallelization

Experience of working with cloud platforms such as Azure/GCP/AWS

Experience with web services or UI frameworks

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science, electronic engineering, or a related discipline
