What the posting says

About the role

Plan Left is hiring a Video Editor to turn our long-form content (webinars, podcasts, interviews and talks) into short, scroll-stopping clips that grow our B2B audience. You'll work closely with the marketing team, owning the edit from raw recording to platform-ready video for LinkedIn, YouTube and other channels.

This is a marketing role as much as an editing role: we want someone who knows what makes a business audience stop, watch and click.

What you'll do

Review webinars, podcasts and recorded talks (30–90 minutes) and pull the strongest moments into short clips (15–90 seconds)

Produce 15–25 short-form videos per week from each long-form piece, plus highlight reels and trailers

Write or refine hooks, on-screen text, captions and titles that land with business buyers

Format and optimize every clip for its platform: LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, Instagram, TikTok and paid ads

Add motion graphics, subtitles, b-roll, branded intros and lower thirds consistent with our brand guidelines

Partner with marketing to align clips with campaigns, product launches and demand-gen goals

Track clip performance (views, watch time, engagement, clicks) and use it to improve the next batch

Keep an organized library of source files, templates and finished assets

The creative side

We don't want clips that look like a webinar recording with captions slapped on. We want short-form content with a point of view that feels native to each platform and still fits a credible B2B brand.

You'll get creative ownership to:

Find the story. Spot the surprising stat, the contrarian opinion or the honest moment in an hour of talk, then build a clip with a clear beginning, tension and payoff

Hook in the first 2 seconds. Try cold opens, pattern interrupts, bold text and smart reordering so viewers keep watching

Bring talking heads to life. Use punch-ins, jump cuts, b-roll, kinetic typography, emoji and icon callouts, split screens and simple animations to keep the energy up

Use sound well. Pick music, sound effects and pacing that match the mood, from punchy and fast to calm and authoritative

Develop a visual style. Help shape and evolve recognizable templates, caption styles, color treatments and series formats for our channels

Pitch new formats. Suggest series, recurring segments, carousel-to-video ideas and trend-based edits that suit a B2B audience

Experiment and learn. Test different hooks, lengths, aspect ratios and styles, and double down on what works

We'd love to see you add your own taste to the work. Bring ideas, not just edits.

What we're looking for

Listed in order of priority.

Fluent English. Excellent written and spoken English. You'll write captions, hooks and on-screen copy, and you need to catch the nuance in what speakers say to find the best moments.

Marketing experience. 2+ years editing video for a marketing team or agency. You understand hooks, audience retention, calls to action and how content supports a funnel.

Long-form to short-form repurposing. A proven track record of turning webinars, podcasts or interviews into short clips. Your portfolio should show both the source and the clips you cut from it.

B2B marketing content. Experience editing for B2B brands such as SaaS, professional services or tech. You know how to make expert conversations engaging for decision-makers without losing credibility.
