What the posting says

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

The Manufacturing Test organization builds the software backbone that ensures every product we ship — on land, sea, and air — meets our quality bar before it goes out the door. As a Test Automation Engineer Co-op, you'll join a small, fast-moving software team building test executive tools, automation pipelines, and analytics that reduce operator time and improve our development cycle across multiple platforms.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will own one or more scoped projects end to end, with mentor support, over the engagement. Candidate projects include:

Automated test sequence development — Build and validate a test executive script (Python) to automate a manual test procedure on an active manufacturing line. Deliverable: working automation script, documentation, and before/after cycle-time comparison.

Cloud data integration — Connect a local test station's data output to our cloud data pipeline, including basic authentication handling. Deliverable: functioning data pipeline plus a short writeup of the integration approach and security considerations.

Debug tooling / triage support — Investigate a recurring test failure mode, root-cause it, and build a lightweight tool or dashboard to help operators triage similar issues faster. Deliverable: root-cause writeup and a working triage aid.

Desktop application feature — Design and implement a discrete feature (Windows or Linux) for an existing test executive application, in coordination with end users. Deliverable: shipped feature, basic test coverage, and user feedback summary.

CI/CD pipeline improvement — Identify a manual step in our test software deployment process and automate it. Deliverable: working CI/CD improvement plus documentation for handoff.

Device communication scripting — Write and validate a script to communicate with a test fixture or instrument over a standard protocol (USB, Serial, CAN, etc.). Deliverable: working script and a short technical note on protocol behavior/edge cases.

These projects are program-focused examples, not a limit on scope.
